As an Explainer, you will have the chance to make a difference by teaching technology and science in an entertaining and scientific way.

About the Technical Museum:

With approximately 388,000 visitors in 2019, more than half of whom are children and young people, we offer a fantastic overall experience with the goal of welcoming 500,000 visitors per year. We are both a science center and Sweden's largest technical museum, where children and adults explore and discover how everything is interconnected – from the infancy of industry to the grand visions of the future.

About the position:

We are looking for an engaged and responsible individual to work as an Explainer at the Technical Museum. In the role of Explainer, you are a key person in our evening team and responsible for delivering exciting and informative tours for our visitors. You will be part of the team that takes care of all visitors and ensures they have an experience they will not forget.

Responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with corporate events to tailor tours and workshops to their needs.

- Conducting guided tours and workshops for the museum's various visitor groups.

- Actively participating in the museum's events and activities to promote learning and engagement.

- Actively participating in the daily operations and ensuring that exhibition areas maintain a high quality.

- Continuously improving and adjusting activities for the museum's evening and weekend explainers.

Qualifications:

- Experience as a guide, in educational work, or similar experience in a cultural or educational environment is an advantage.

- Strong self-leadership and the ability to motivate and support a team.

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with schools and visitors.

Your profile:

We are looking for someone who is positive, energetic, and passionate about inspiring STEAM in a joyful way. You have strong communication skills and enjoy interacting with different groups. We believe in diversity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.

Application:

The positions are part-time at 45%, with a 6-month probationary period. Work is scheduled on weekdays, weekends, and school breaks. Primarily evening shifts. We conduct ongoing selection and interviews and will fill the positions as soon as we find the right candidate.
